Chive on Android

The Play Store app is on the way. In the meantime, Chive installs straight to your home screen: same kitchen, same account, and it behaves like an app once it is there.

Three taps

Put Chive on your home screen.

Open the site, then three taps, and your phone saves the app itself and keeps it up to date.

Open chive-app.com in Chrome

On the phone you want Chive on.

Tap the menu button (⋮) at the top right.

Edge and Opera work the same way. This page opens the same menu on all three.

Choose "Add to Home screen" (or "Install app").

If Chrome offers to install Chive on its own, take that instead. It is the same thing, one tap sooner.

Tap "Install" to confirm.

That is it. It launches full-screen with no address bar, and signing in there keeps you signed in.

Using Samsung Internet instead?
  1. Tap the menu button (☰) at the bottom right.
  2. Choose "Add page to".
  3. Choose "Home screen", then tap "Add".
Using Firefox instead?
  1. Tap the menu button (⋮) beside the address bar.
  2. Choose "Add to Home screen" (some versions say "Install").
  3. Confirm to finish.

Still iPhone-only, for now

The home-screen widget, Siri, and the Apple Reminders hand-off, which are iOS features with no web equivalent.
